Sustainability in Fashion
SUSTAINABILITY IN FASHION!
In my recent years of understanding the fashion industry, I have taken the liberty of doing my research on how people consume fashion, as well as how the industry is organized in terms of processes.
I have found it quite interesting, as well as concerning as to how much we all consume as customers. This new era of fashion of finding environmentally and economically responsible ways of producing fashion has empowered me to speak on the matter.
I’ve found my ways of becoming a sustainability activist through the fashion playground events, as well as showing ways to upcycle old outfits and make them brand new again.
I also have quite a liking for boutiques and preloved fashion shops. You will be surprised at some of the gems you will find.
Look out for my monthly post on social media where I share some of my upcycled outfits for inspiration and fun.
TIPS TO KEEP YOUR WARDROBE UPCYCLED!
Buying second-hand clothing is a great way to be sustainable. Thrift stores, consignment shops, and online resale platforms.
Buy from sustainable brands and look for brands that use sustainable materials and ethical manufacturing practices.
Invest in high-quality pieces that will last for years to come. This will save you money in the long run and reduce the amount of clothing you need to buy.
